Challenge

Understand the current energy landscape of public buildings in the State of Rio de Janeiro, train building managers, develop a best practices guide, and prepare a strategy for monitoring and continuous improvement in energy efficiency (EE).

Mitsidi Performance

He led the project, advising the state government on energy efficiency.

Training of public managers, development of the state energy efficiency plan, technical visits, benchmarking of public building stock, preparation of guides and manuals, support in the drafting of decrees and resolutions.

Results

Energy efficiency implemented as a main pillar of government management;
70 EE commissions created with the publication of a decree and resolution regulating the state's energy management;
EE plan, trained managers, case studies, EE guide published and widely disseminated.
